G. S. Bosworth, Esq.,

Director of Personnel,

The English Electric Co. Ltd.,

English Electric House,

Strand,

London, W.C.2.

Dear Mr. Bosworth,

A Notice announcing my resignation and departure from Marconi Instruments, Ltd., at the end of this week has now been circulated so I must assume that there is definitely no prospect there for me. I had rather hoped otherwise and that, with the removal of my Research responsibilities, a new post would be offered.

I am writing to ask if there is another post within the English Electric Company? I have drawn up a list of some possible appointments in order of preference, in which you will see that I would like another industrial post in the electronics or instrument fields with either overall responsibility for a Company or Division or for the product policy side. If, however, there are other types of post available, I would be glad to hear of them.

I have made one or two tentative enquiries elsewhere but have held all negotiations in the hope that another post would be offered either in M.I. Ltd. or alternatively in the E.E.Co.
am disappointed at the outcome of four years' hard work in a field in which I have wide experience but recognise that I have gained much.

I enclose a curriculum vitae.

Yours sincerely,

H V Beck
