Conference on

Electronics Design

8th-9th February, 1965

At the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Savoy Place, London, W.C.2

(Telephone: Covent Garden 1871)

(Organized by the Ad Hoc Committee on Electronics Design)

A study is being made of the manner in which a designer of electronic equipment may achieve a satisfactory balance of all the characteristics - for example cost, size, weight, reliability, ease of use and appearance as well as those characteristics concerned with technical performance. Deficiencies or gaps in the information needed by an electronics designer in carrying out this synthesizing function are to be investigated and enquiries will be made into the problems of training such designers.

This Conference is of a preliminary nature aimed at an early interchange of information, ideas and experience as well as communicating present knowledge on these topics. It is intended to hold a further Conference in two or three years' time to cover the field in detail, incorporating the results of studies resulting from the proceedings of this preliminary Conference.

The Ad Hoc Committee on Electronics Design would particularly like to obtain the views and co-operation of those actively engaged in the design of electronic equipment as well as teachers and managers interested in the field.
