Dear Beck,
May I say to
you and ask you to tell Ray Burnett how very much I enjoyed my visit to Marconi Instruments last Wednesday. I was amazed and pleased to see the extent of your expansion and was glad to renew my acquaintanceship at first hand with the good work which you are doing.
I have suggested to David Simpson of Hewlett-Packard, Bedford, that he should invite you and Ray Burnett up there and I, in very general terms, pointed out you might be not unwilling to find a U.S. outlet for your image brightening X-ray equipment. I think this is a distinct possibility, as I gather that
Sanborn in the States did have some association with X-ray equipment and they are now looking for something new. Let me know if you do not hear from Hewlett-Packard in the course of the next week or ten days, and I will stir them up.
Very sincerely yours,
F.S Barton
